Stover Mill Gallery issues call for artists for juried show

Posted
Stover Mill Gallery, Bucks County’s longest continuously running art gallery, hosts its eighth Juried Art Exhibition in October and has issued a call for entries.

The exhibit will be held during four weekends, beginning Oct. 12 at the Stover Mill Gallery on River Road (Route 32) in Erwinna.

Overlooking the Delaware River, the Stover Mill Gallery is on the first floor of the restored 1832 Stover Mill, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Since 1959, the Stover Mill Gallery has served as a showcase for regional artists active in the art scene of Upper Bucks County.

The exhibition is sponsored by the Tinicum Civic Association.

It will be juried by artist Lauren Travis, owner for more than 27 years of Travis Gallery in New Hope and a member of the International Society of Appraisers, and Judith Sutton, a professional illustrator for more than 25 years, who began painting following her retirement.

Artists working in representational, impressionist or abstract modes, in any medium, are invited to submit original art for consideration. All art must be for sale.

Each artist may submit one work. An application fee of $25 is nonrefundable. Those who are accepted, may also bring in two portfolio pieces under $200, wrapped in plastic for sale.

The deadline for submission is Sept. 7. Visit EntryThingy.com and look for Eighth Annual Juried Show – Stover Mill Gallery for required application and submission instructions. Over $3,250 in cash prizes will be awarded.

A gala opening reception will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.
