Steven C. Papiernik

Steven C. Papiernik of Perkasie, Pa., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa. He was 72.
He was the loving husband of Virginia H. (Hagan) Papiernik. The couple celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on July 7, 2021.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Stephanie (Lusczak) Papiernik. A 1966 graduate of Pennridge High School, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from Penn State University in 1970. He went on to earn his master’s degree from the University of Alabama in 1973.
As a young man, Steve helped his mother manage properties. In 1973, he started out on his own, owning and managed multiple properties in the area. He also worked for the Catholic Social Services, Doylestown, Pa., from 1973 to 1977. He was well known for owning and operating Mom’s Bake At Home Pizzas in Souderton, Pa., from 1984 to 1994.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, Pa.
He enjoyed spending time with his family at their second home in Savannah, Ga., and going to the beach both in Georgia and New Jersey. In his earlier years, he enjoyed riding bicycles.
Surviving with his wife is a daughter, Mary P. Zillitto and her husband Bryan, of Oradell, N.J.; two grandchildren, Sebastian Noel Zillitto and Catherine Aniela Zillitto; a brother, Joseph M. Papiernik and his wife Sandra, of Quakertown, Pa.; a sister, Dolores Bonk, of Ottsville, Pa., and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Stefan Noel Papiernik, on Oct. 29, 2014.
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, Jan. 14, 2022 at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, Inc., 606 Arch St., Perkasie, Pa. His funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main Street Sellersville, Pa. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Ottsville, Pa.
