State legislators ask support for agenda in Congress

Posted

s our responsibility to ensure our federal partners in Washington hear the voices of our shared constituents. As we serve our respective communities, we see up close and personal the persistent challenges that they face every day, most of which are addressed in the Build Back Better agenda which is widely supported by the people we represent.
The Build Back Better framework will set the U.S. on course to meet its climate targets – a 52% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions below 2005 levels by 2030, addressing the root cause of climate change, and reestablishing the United States as an international leader. The framework will create good-paying union jobs, grow domestic industries, and advance environmental justice for Black, brown, and low-income Americans that have long been overlooked. It will provide billions of dollars to replace lead pipes which will provide kids with clean water and protect their health.
The Build Back Better Act has passed the U.S. House and is now being negotiated in the U.S. Senate. We know better than most how complicated and messy the legislative process can be, but there is no time to waste. Our federal partners must get this done.
