State grants will fund traffic signal upgrades Doylestown Township, Dublin, Falls and Lower Makefield

Several Bucks County communities are receiving funds to improve traffic signals and other safety measures, thanks to the state’s Green Light-Go grants.
As part of an approximately $37.8 million program, Doylestown Township will be getting two grants, including $469,492 for fiber interconnection of traffic signals at seven intersections along Swamp Road, according to a statement from Gov. Wolf’s office. The township will also receive $100,000 for safety upgrades, including a flashing yellow arrow and “advance dilemma-zone detection” along Route 611 from Edison Furlong Road to Kelly Road.
In Dublin, a $129,360 grant will be used for upgrades to traffic signals at three intersections on Main Street – Route 313.

Falls and Lower Makefield townships will also receive funds for traffic upgrades. A $244,290 grant was awarded to Falls for improvements at Trenton Road and North Olds Boulevard. In Lower Makefield, a $305,320 grant will improve the traffic light at Pine Grove and Big Oaks roads, officials said.
“These upgrades will help relieve congestion and improve the flow of traffic on some of our busiest roadways, benefitting residents and travelers,” said State Sen. Steve Santarsiero, in a release.
Green Light-Go grants are reimbursements to municipalities and can be used for a range of traffic-centered improvements, including LED technology installation, retiming traffic lights and monitoring traffic signals and more, according to the governor’s office.
