Spring comes early at BCCC Art in Bloom festival

Posted

The Art and Floral Design departments of Bucks County Community College are collaborating to present Art In Bloom March 4, 5 and 6.
Escape the cold, gray days of winter as blooms blend with art throughout the halls of the Hicks Art Center at Bucks County Community College. The special exhibition will feature dozens of interpretative floral displays, paintings, glass sculptures and wood working.
The Art In Bloom Festival will include a demonstration series featuring live demonstrations from both the Art Department and Continuing Education Department Floral team. This festival is free and open to the community.
The schedule of events includes an invitation-only Art In Bloom Opening Night from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 4. All participating artists will be given tickets to distribute to friends and family to join in on the reveal of the floral and art pieces. The Bucks County Floral Designer of the Year Competition will take place that evening at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, March 5, Art in Bloom will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with 30-minute live demonstrations beginning at the top of each hour, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., by the Floral Design and Art departments
On Sunday, March 6, Art in Bloom will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a demonstration and book signing by Renee Tucci at noon and a Make & Take Activity for Lil’ Buds from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Children up to age 15 are invited to make a fun floral craft. At 3 p.m., the winners of People’s Choice, Best in Show, and the Bucks County Floral Designer of the Year Competition will be announced.
Throughout the duration of the festival, guests will be welcome to roam the halls of the Hicks Art Center to take in the many floral and art pieces on display.
