Special events return to ACME Screening Room

Posted

Acme Screening Room in Lambertville, N.J., reopens for two special events.
The first, on Saturday, Feb, 26, is a Black History Month presentation, “Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America.”
In partnership with Lambertville’s Human Rights Council promoting LHRC’s “Only Together Will We End Racism” initiative, member Bruce Harris will lead the post-screening discussion.
The film “Who We Are,” interweaves lecture, personal anecdotes, interviews, and revelations, as ACLU deputy legal director Jeffery Robinson draws a stark timeline of anti-Black racism in the United States, from slavery to modern America.

Union Coffee of Lambertville is the event sponsor.
On March 5, Acme will screen “Julia Scotti: Funny That Way,” followed by a live comedy show with Scotti. There will be a post screening discussion with Scotti, and Director Susan Sandler will participate via Skype. With emotional honesty, the powerful and tender portrait of transgender comedian Julia Scotti explores the unrelenting courage and humor it takes to be Julia.
