“Spamalot” at T&C offers musical parody of Arthurian Legend

Posted

To kick off its season, Town and Country Players brings Monty Python’s “Spamalot” to its stage from April 21 to May 6.

The musical comedy is based on the 1975 film, “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.”

Written by Eric Idle, this hilarious musical is a loving parody of Arthurian legend. It’s got everything you could want in a show: singing, dancing, knights, and, of course, plenty of irreverent comedy. The show has been a hit with audiences around the world, and it is finally making its way to Town and Country Players.

King Arthur (Lee Damon), and his trusted servant Patsy (Kevin Palardy) travel the land to recruit Knights of the Round Table to join him in Camelot.

On their journey, they gather the “Homicidally Brave” Sir Lancelot (Matthew Moore), the “Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir-Lancelot” Sir Robin (Adam Zucal), the “Dashingly Handsome” Sir Galahad, and “the Strangely Flatulent” Sir Belvedere (Tom Setefrati). The knights are enchanted by the Lady of the Lake (Alyssa Moore) and her “Laker Girls” as their journey continues and they bravely meet hysterical obstacles.

Spamalot has been praised for its clever writing, catchy songs, and high-energy performances. The show features classic tunes such as “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” and “The Song That Goes Like This,” as well as new songs written specifically for the stage production.

Town and Country Players is on Route 263 in Buckingham. For information and tickets, visit townandcountryplayers.org or call 800-595-4849.
