Snow Folk Art contest returns for the holidays

Posted

Snow Folk Art is back for the holidays thanks to Solebury Township Parks and Recreation and Niece Lumber.

Participants can win cash prizes and will have their artistic creation displayed at the municipal building through Jan. 9.

A Snow Folk Art project begins with a two-by-four wood cut-out in the shape of a traditional snowman. Participants then create whatever they can imagine using materials and colors that represent the spirit of the holidays.

Cash prizes are awarded in five separate categories based on age groups, and all participants receive a 4-inch snowman when dropping off their entry.

Pick up your cut-out and entry form at the Solebury Township Municipal Building, 3092 North Sugan Road in Solebury.

Drop off your completed Snow Folk artwork on or before Dec. 15, at the Solebury Township Municipal Building. Niece Lumber in Lambertville, N.J. is the sponsor and partner in this event, and has provided all of the blank wood cut-outs for you to create your artistic winter wonder.

Snow Folk Art will be on display at the Solebury Township Municipal Building from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The building is closed on Fridays.

All entries will be judged on Dec. 21 and winners announced on the township’s website. Stop by the Township Municipal Building to take your entry home the week of Jan 9. After Jan. 13, any remaining entries will simply melt away...............................
