Singer-songwriter Joe Coco releases 60th album

Posted

Joe Coco, a veteran singer-songwriter, has released his 60th album, “Dancing with Ladders.”
The album was inspired by a fall off a ladder, resulting in a broken rib for Coco, who wrote all of the songs after the Nov. 4, 2019 accident.
The CD is “full of lamentation on mistakes (mostly patriarchal) with Biblical references.”

A former Warner Bros songwriter, Coco has opened concerts for B.B. King, Commander Cody, Leon Redbone, John Hammond Jr, The Roches, Leo Kotke, Lee Konitz, and more.
Coco’s 2017 “World War III Is Here!” was considered for a Grammy Award, and four of his albums are included in the Rock ’N Roll Hall of Fame’s Library Collection.
Coco was a principal soloist in the Italian touring production of “Tommy” by The Who. His collaboration with Italy’s Michele Lotta’s - King Biscuit Time Band won Italian 2001 Blues Album of the Year for the CD “Low Fidelity,” which included Coco’s song “Born With The Blues.”
