Sculptor is next Artsbridge Distinguished Artist presenter

Posted

Sculptor Mira DeMartino will present “Empowerment Through Artfirmations,” at Artsbridge’s Distinguished Artist Series this month.

The presentation of her spirited sculptures will take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 20. at the Prallsville Mills, 33 Risler St., Stockton, N.J.

A decade ago, DeMartino developed her own technique of sculpting calling it AlumixArt mixed media–consisting mostly of aluminum. She uses this unique medium to explore the area of modern spirituality. Her goal is to challenge viewers to connect with their potential of self-empowerment through art.

“I believe in self-empowerment. I believe that what we see around us influences our mental attitude. I create sculptures as a tool for self-empowerment, and I call them “Artfirmations,” said DeMartino.

Born in Gdansk, Poland, now living in Pennington N.J., she has a master’s degree in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, and an MBA from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland. Her work is housed in many private collections locally and around the world.
