Salute to Mothers Scholarship Tea returns to benefit student-mothers

The 16th annual Salute to Mothers Scholarship Tea will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. April 28, in the Tyler Formal Gardens at Bucks County Community College, 275 Swamp Road, Newtown.
The Fegley Law Firm has established the Carolyn Fegley Memorial Award as part of the Bucks County Community College Foundation’s Salute to Mothers Scholarship program.
Scott Fegley, Carolyn’s husband for 26 years, says, “Carolyn was an amazing wife and mother, and we have missed her every day since her passing in 2018. She was also a huge part of our law firm’s growth and success as our director of marketing, which she expertly handled while raising our three daughters.
“I am happy that her legacy will live on with the establishment of the Carolyn Fegley Memorial Award. The scholarship will help Bucks County Community College student-mothers who are pursuing a degree while raising a family.
“On behalf of the Fegley Law Firm and my entire family, we thank the foundation for this opportunity and look forward to honoring all the scholarship recipients in April.”

The first Carolyn Fegley Memorial Award recipient will be announced at the 16th annual Salute to Mothers Scholarship Tea.
To attend the tea, RSVP by Thursday, April 21, at Attendees are encouraged to wear hats – the more fanciful the better. Those who are unable to attend are asked to consider making a contribution in support of the Salute to Mothers Scholarship.
The Salute to Mothers Scholarship was established by Bucks professor Emerita Betty Tsai in 2007. As a faculty member, she saw mothers struggling to raise their families and pursue a college education and was motivated to do something to help them.
Since its creation, over 185 scholarships, representing $285,000, have been awarded to mothers raising one or more children while attending Bucks.
