Rugby notes: Oct. 7, 2021

The Doylestown Rugby men’s team hosted Montgomery Bucks (North Penn) on Saturday, Oct. 2, and came away with a 95-10 victory.
Try scorers for the Dragons were: John Nyongesa (four), Eric French (three), Dave Kornock (two), Kevin Hockings (two), Sekou Harris (two), Ryan Cornell (one) and Ryheem Powell (one).
Kornock kicked seven conversions and Jeremy Ault was successful on two conversion kicks. Harris was Man of the Match. Montgomery Bucks had one penalty kick and one converted try.
Doylestown will travel to Lancaster on Saturday, Oct. 9, to play the Roses. Kickoff is at p.m.
The Doylestown Rugby women’s team hosted Phoenixville on Oct. 2. It was a hard-fought battle, but Doylestown lost 5-38. Tori Talvacchia scored the only try for Doylestown.

The next match will be against North East Irish Women on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. on the home pitch, at Maennerchor Field, 3650 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown.
The Doylestown Rugby Academy girls traveled to the Hempfield Knightmares Tournament in Centerville on Sept. 26. This was the second of the 2021 RugbyPA Fall Sevens Tournaments. The girls went 3-0 in pool play against West Carroll (17-14), Hollidaysburg (40-10), and Morris (29-12). Maddie Doyle led the day with eight tries and two conversions.
Other try scorers were: Liz Johnston (three), Molly Thiebeau (two) and Niveah Fitten (one). Nolah Flynn tacked on six conversions. In the finals, Doylestown lost 38-0 to Hempfield.
The girls will travel to West Chester on Oct. 10 for the third of the 2021 RugbyPA Fall Sevens Tournaments.
