The 2019 Doylestown Rugby Academy Summer Flag Rugby season is officially over.

The co-ed flag rugby league now consists of nine clubs, which visit each other for round-robin play over a five-week schedule in June and July.

This year, the Doylestown Rugby Academy fielded teams in all five age groups, from pre-k to seventh grade. The academy kicked off the season by hosting its own tournament, attended by Blackthorn, Yardley and North Penn. Downingtown and Yardley, two of the newest clubs in the league, hosted play at their home fields for the first time, and Doylestown attended both tournaments.

On July 12 and 13, Doylestown Rugby Academy’s Nina Mason, a member of the high school girls team, played for the Stars, an elite rugby 7s team based in Milwaukee, but which draws players from throughout the United States. The Stars competed in Toronto, at the Great North 7s Tournament. During the weekend, Mason played flyhalf in all of the games, and had four tries and six conversions.
