Roxy Therapy Dogs receives award, grant

Posted

Roxy Therapy Dogs received the Bucks County Bar Association and Foundation’s William H. Eastburn III Award for extraordinary service to the community.

The award was bestowed on Roxy on Dec. 1 for the stability and a sense of calm the certified therapy dogs bring to children who are victims of abuse or neglect as they appear before a judge in the courtroom. Roxy volunteers provide this service year-round and at no cost to anyone.

Roxy Therapy Dogs also received a $5,000 grant from the Bucks County Foundation to help Roxy continue to bring comfort and support to thousands of children per week with its certified therapy dog teams.

Roxy Therapy Dogs is an all-volunteer nonprofit, donation-dependent organization with 70 teams and six programs that bring the support and comfort of therapy dogs to children in CBSD schools, health care facilities, the courthouse and trauma situations.
