Rose B. Pelley

Doylestown: It is with a bittersweet heart that I wish to inform you of the passing of Rose B. Pelley. Once she completed the last item on her bucket list” (celebrating her 100th birthday on Saturday, Feb. 19th 2022) she passed away four days later as she always wanted to … at home, in her own bed, and peacefully in her sleep.
How do you summarize 100 years loved? Rose was born to Frank and Anna (Wojcik) Kobak in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was raised and lived most of her life. It is where she survived the Great Depression, met and married her one and only love Stanley Pelley, and raised her four children: Ronald, Kathy, Robert and Christine Conroy (Tom) on a small farm. She and Stan were married for 67 years and grew their small farm business from a little road-side stand to one of the first “farm markets” in the Old Brooklyn section of Cleveland. They evolved their business into a successful greenhouse/garden center, which they worked in until they retired. They enjoyed their retirement and the addition of five grandchildren to their family. Stan passed away in 2013 before he had the opportunity to enjoy the addition of six great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
After Stan passed away Rose made the difficult decision to uproot her life and moved to Doylestown, Pa., where she lived with her daughter Kathy for almost eight years. She grew to love our beautiful Bucks County and Doylestown truly became her “second home.” Friends and relatives deeply admired Rose for her spirit, resourcefulness and inner strength. She was wrapped in the love of the entire neighborhood and always had a warm smile for all she met.
Rose had a deep and abiding Christian faith which sustained her throughout her life. She was a longtime member of Saint Leo the Great parish in Cleveland Ohio and was quickly adopted by Our Lady of Guadalupe parish in Doylestown, Pa. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Leo the Great Parish in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 25..
Memorial contributions in Rose’s name may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown, PA 18902 or the Delaware Valley Music Club, P.O. Box 247, Holicong, PA 18928.
