Robert R. Forbes of New Hope, Pa., passed away at his residence on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022.
Known to most as Bob, Uncle Bob, or Bob the Cop, he was born in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Nathaniel and Elizabeth (Rupp) Forbes. Bob was a lifelong resident of Solebury Township and New Hope Borough, Pa.
Although he worked in several professions throughout his life, he will always be remembered as a cop. He began his law enforcement career in Buckingham Township, where he worked for several years before continuing his career with the New Hope Borough Police Department. He served the residents of New Hope Borough faithfully for over 40 years, finally retiring at the age of 67. He enjoyed his retirement tinkering in his garage and around the house. Always ready to drop everything to help someone, he was known and loved by many. Bob was a longtime member of Bucks County FOP Lodge #53 and New Hope Eagle Fire Company.
Bob is survived by his sister Natalie Forbes, his sons, Chris and Craig, and his granddaughter, Brianna.
Cremation services were private.
A memorial service will be scheduled in the near future.
