Robert E. Snyder

Robert E. Snyder, (Bob), age 92, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Ann’s Choice in Warminster, Pa.

Born in Palmerton, Pa., Bob was a longtime resident of Bucks County. He was a 1948 graduate of Stephen S. Palmer High School and earned his BS in mathematics from Oklahoma A&M College in 1956. Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Korean War on the USS Thomas Jefferson. He was a computer programmer working for Lockheed Corp. in Sunnyvale, Calif., developing software for the Polaris Missile. He also worked at Aeronutronic; Philco Ford, developing programs for space travel in Willow Grove, Pa., and Sperry-UNIVAC Blue Bell in management and recruitment, retiring in 1987.

Bob enjoyed hiking and was actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 8, serving as the chairman of Lenape District for twenty troops, and was council commissioner for Bucks County from 1966 to 2015. Bob participated in the annual Washington Crossing Reenactment from 1974 to 2007 and was very involved with the renovation of the Moland House also known as Washington’s Headquarters Farm. He belonged to the Fraternal Grundsau Lodsche-Groundhog Lodge.

Son of the late Russel H. and Ida M. (Frantz) Snyder, brother of the late: Russel Snyder Jr., Lee Snyder and Alton Snyder, he is survived by:

Kathy Joy DeHeart (Michael),

David E. Snyder,

Nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend Bob’s Life Celebration starting at 12 p.m. The memorial service begins at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, The Decker Givnish Funeral Home, 216 York Road, Warminster, PA 18947. Private family luncheon to follow.
