Robert A. Schimony

Robert A. Schimony of Sellersville, Pa., passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2022 in The Community at Rockhill, Sellersville, Pa., after a difficult journey with Parkinson’s disease. He was 84.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Bock) Schimony, Robert resided in Chalfont for 35 years, before moving to Quakertown in 2007 and to The Community at Rockhill in 2018. While raising his family, Bob served in the U.S. Naval Air Reserve for six years at the Willow Grove Naval Airstation in Pennsylvania.
He was formerly employed as a Mortgage Banker with GMAC Mortgage of Horsham, Pa., for 34 years, retiring in 1999. Robert was a member of St. Isidore Church of Quakertown.
He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Patricia (Brady) Schimony; devoted father of Robert (Tina) Schimony, Diane (Robert) Humbrecht, Linda Rasmussen and the late Janet Palladino (who is survived by her husband Richard); dear brother of the late Matthew Schimony, Anna Fischer and Elizabeth Dahms; also survived by 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Bob was an active member of his children’s Little League, Home and School Association, and the Mortgage Bankers Association. Bob also made time to serve on Chalfont Borough Council.
Bob loved to travel. He and Pat visited most states including Alaska and Hawaii and most Caribbean islands. He also enjoyed a good game of tennis as well as a good book. Bob shared his love of playing the accordion with friends and family as well as in the Mummers Parade (Uptown String Band).
The family will receive their friends at St. Isidore Roman Catholic Church, 2545 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, PA 18951 on Monday, March 14, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. with a funeral mass to follow.
Cremation services were private.
