River House at Odette’s to use Pearl Mintzer’s Odette portrait

Posted

River House at Odette’s will use Pearl Mintzer’s portrait of Odette on its key cards and in its public relations efforts.

The portrait is a digital art piece. Digital and computer-generated art is what is used for reproduction. It is also used in almost all product design.

Mintzer has been a pioneer in computer graphics and digital art, a skill she learned by necessity. She owned a company that created and manufactured packaging and premiums for the cosmetics industry, for companies like Macy’s and Estee Lauder.

Digital and computer-generated art – not considered real art for many years – requires creativity and excellent design, and is now an important art form, Mintzer says.

Mintzer’s large digital art canvases offer a great alternative for the interior design of homes, offices and hotels.

The River House at Odette’s in New Hope will host an event to show many of Mintzer’s digital art canvases. The theme is retro, just like the theme of Odette’s.

The event in celebration of National Women’s Month will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. March 16, in the hotel’s Rhapsody Ballroom. Members of the community, hotel guests and Roof Members are welcome to join the socially distanced celebration featuring a “meet and greet” with Mintzer.

Guests can purchase works of art directly from Mintzer, with a portion of proceeds donated to New Hope Arts, a nonprofit regional arts center.
