Resolution to pause action in Route 29 a positive move

Posted

On July 11, the Delaware Township mayor and township committee passed a resolution questioning the Route 29 rockfall mitigation projects in Hunterdon County, N.J.

That resolution calls upon “NJDOT to pause moving forward with rockfall mitigation plans along Route 29 in Hunterdon County and to immediately engage in a robust stakeholder process with residents and local officials within the communities impacted by the proposed project.”

The resolution also calls upon “NJDOT and the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority to examine alternatives to the proposed rockfall mitigation project plans as presented.”

Thanks to the Delaware Township Committee, mayor and environmental commission for taking this important action.
