“Reel” Garden Party to benefit Newtown Theatre

The “Reel” Garden Party in support of the historic Newtown Theatre will return on Thursday, June 27, at the home of Ernie and Rebecca Bancroft in Newtown Borough.

The popular outdoor cocktail party starts at 6:30 p.m. and includes an open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, music, and special auction items. The cost of the party is $75 per person, and only 125 tickets will be sold. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit theater. Visit for information and tickets.

“The Reel Garden Party was created in 2021 to push us over the fundraising finish line for the theater’s Phase I renovations, but the party proved so popular we made it an annual event,” said theater Executive Director Andrew Smith.

“This year’s proceeds will help fund our Phase II renovations, which will address the theater’s balcony and basement restrooms,” he continued. “Work on those areas is scheduled for July and August of this year. Once complete, the entire theater will have the same look and feel as our beautifully renovated first floor.”
