Raven memorabilia auction set to benefit nonprofit New Hope Celebrates

Posted

Gateway to New Hope, which owns River House at Odette’s and The Raven, is donating the majority of the contents of The Raven to New Hope Celebrates and partnering on an auction to be held Nov. 7.

The live auction will be open to the public and take place at Rago Arts, 333 N. Main St., Lambertville, N.J., from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Attendees will have the chance to take home items from the beloved establishment. A silent auction is also planned.

The Raven has been a treasured piece of the community for many years, and the auction allows patrons the opportunity to own a piece of the property.

Memorabilia available for auction includes iconic pieces like The Raven sign on Bridge Street, disco balls, pool table, bar stools, tables, and pool lounge chairs.

There are over 100 pieces total, including a wide variety of décor and entertaining items like dance floor, ceiling tiles, décor and signs, and functional pieces like heat lamps, planters, appliances and kitchen equipment.

The evening will include light food and champagne for patrons. Additionally, as a continued effort in preserving and memorializing The Raven, the brickwork from the property will be dismantled and saved for guests to purchase at a later date.

The Raven in its current state is closed and will be carefully deconstructed before the end of the year, salvaging legendary pieces of its structure.

Gateway to New Hope plans to warehouse the Oak Room bar, several stained-glass windows, wood paneling, lighting fixtures, piano and more as they intend to thoughtfully re-introduce it to the new property as an authentic nod to its history. Gateway to New Hope is currently working on plans and permits for the next iteration of the hotel, bar and restaurant.

“We know how much this community cherishes The Raven and we’re making all efforts to maintain the property’s essence and importance to the city of New Hope,” said Ron Gorodesky, managing director of River House at Odette’s. “We couldn’t be more excited for The Raven’s next chapter and are very much looking forward to reintroducing a property that is elevated in design and amenities that still offers the same warm and welcoming atmosphere to all.”

“There were so many memories and moments shared in the current Raven, and with the donations from River House at Odette’s, our community is able to keep those memories alive,” said Matt Hanson, president of New Hope Celebrates.
