Posted

Three life-changing nonprofits in the Quakertown area – Quakertown Community Outreach, the Pride of Quakertown and Upper Bucks Code Blue – are kicking off summer on June 25 with Outreach ’22, a free concert at the Univest Performance Center, 301 West Mill St., Quakertown.

The award-winning Craig Thatcher Band, known for classic rock and blues as well as their own original songs, will take the amphitheater stage at 6 p.m. after the opening act, Freedom in Christ.

Quakertown Community Outreach helps with bills, medicine, transportation, clothing and shelter to those in crisis. Upper Bucks Code Blue provides warm meals and comfortable places to sleep. Pride of Quakertown provides scholarships to youngsters who can’t afford to participate in sports and other activities.

The concert is free, donations will be accepted at the venue to support the many programs offered by the nonprofits. Most of the funds raised will be generated through event sponsorship. Those interested in becoming a sponsor can email QtownBenefitConcert@gmail.com for information.

There is ample free parking in lots surrounding the venue, including the adjacent Bucks County Free Library, as well as handicap parking at the venue. There will be an accessible wheelchair seating section and guests are encouraged to bring folding chairs or blankets. There will be several food truck concessions.
