Public meetings set on proposed sewer system sale to Aqua PA

The highly controversial proposed sale of the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority to Aqua Pennsylvania has sparked an outcry from many communities that would be affected.
On Wednesday, the authority announced two public meetings to be held next week.
July 26, 10 a.m. to noon, Bucks County Community College – Perkasie CampusGreat Room (located in the North Building), One Hillendale Rd., Perkasie 18944

July 26, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Bucks County Community College – Newtown CampusGallagher Room (located in the Rollins Center), 275 Swamp Road, Newtown, 18940 (use parking lot by the West Entrance)
The plan to sell the county’s public sewer system for $1.1 billion, an extraordinary transaction, would bring tens of millions of dollars to Bucks while reportedly increasing utility bills for about 75,000 households throughout the county and beyond.
