Charged: Kristina K. Lankford, 69, of Doylestown, with for simple assault and harassment Aug. 23. The victim came to headquarters to report the assault and was bleeding from multiple scratches to the face and cuts on the arm, police said. The victim said they had engaged in a verbal argument with Lankford that then turned into a physical altercation. Lankford was taken into custody, arraigned and bail set at $20,000 unsecured.
Charged: Jennifer L. Darosa, 39, of East Falmouth, Mass., Aug. 23, with forgery, firearm not to be carried without a license, possession/safe/use display documents, theft from motor vehicle, registration and certificate of title required and operation of vehicle without an official certificate of inspection.
Police were dispatched at 7 a.m. to Planet Fitness, 442 N. Main St., Doylestown, for a report of a suspicious person pulling on car door handles. Officers arrived and noticed a woman, matching the description, driving toward them in a Honda Civic. After stopping the vehicle Darosa produced a title, which was not in her name, and she could not tell police the name of the seller or the state in which the purchase was made.
During an inventory search of the vehicle police located a firearm as well as three cell phones. Since she could not produce proof of ownership and did not possess a license to carry Darosa was taken into custody. Darosa was arraigned by District Judge Regina Armitage, bail set at 10% of $50,000, and remanded to Bucks County Prison.
Charged: Jonathan J. Mitchell, 45, with theft and receiving stolen property at 3 p.m. Aug. 20. Police responded to Wendy’s at 400 N. Main St., Doylestown, for a theft of a cell phone.
Video surveillance showed a man pick up the cell phone from a table and walk out of the restaurant. The owner of the phone called the number and made contact with Mitchell who stated that he wanted $250 to return the phone and to meet him at the Main Street Inn, Doylestown Borough. The owner notified police and police met Mitchell at the location.
Mitchell was found in possession of the cell phone, along with a debit card and drivers license belonging to the owner of the phone. Mitchell was arrested, arraigned by Judge Mark Douple and bail set at $5,000 unsecured.
Charged: Mark Edward Tobey, 41, Aug. 18, with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
Police responded to 625 N. Main St., Doylestown, for a domestic disturbance and were told that the man fled. When police located Tobey he was visibly intoxicated and told police that he had been drinking.
A witness stated that she saw Tobey shove a female guest who then fell and hit her head on a metal railing. Tobey was taken into custody and became verbally and actively combative including threatening police officers and resisting arrest. Tobey was arraigned, bail set at 10% $175,000 and remanded to Bucks County Prison.

Perkasie

Traffic accidents: Aug. 21, at 1:01 p.m. on E. Walnut St. at Virginia Ave. involving two vehicles, both of which were damaged and towed away, but no one was injured; and at 11:21 p.m. on Constitution Avenue, from which three in juries were reported and both cars were towed. One driver is facing charges for Driving Under the Influence. Police did not provide additional details.
Charged: Jason Post with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after an investigation by the Perkasie Borough K-9 Unit of a suspicious vehicle parked at a business on N. Main St. in Sellersville at 5:15 a.m. July 3, police reported on Aug. 24.
Thefts: of catalytic converters from vehicles in the 100 block of 2nd Street, 500 Block of 8th Street, the 100 block of North 7th Street, the 300 block of Market Street and the 100 block of Diamond Street in Sellersville, reported Aug. 23.
Perkasie Detectives are in touch with numerous other police agencies that are investigating similar thefts. Anyone with information regarding these thefts is urged to contact the Perkasie Borough Police Department.
Additionally, the Perkasie Borough Police Department encourages all residents to immediately report suspicious activity to the police department by calling 215-257-6876 during working hours or by dialing 911.

Richland

Burglary: from a Gross Road residence, reported Aug. 10. Reported stolen were a shotgun, cash and coins, a safe and a family urn of ashes.
Charged: Donald Aaron Alpaugh 47, of East Pumping Station Road and with strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault, resisting arrest, operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness following a domestic assault Aug. 6.
Charged: Christopher R. Brennan 39, of Quakertown, with retail theft and resisting arrest, Aug. 8, after police responded to Walmart, 195 N. West End Blvd., for a retail theft in progress.
Charged: Barry Alexander Howerton 58, of Hatfield, with driving under the influence following a routine traffic stop Aug. 12.
Charged: Robert C. Smallwood 49, of Cedar Drive, Aug. 13, after turning himself in on a warrant, with simple assault and harassment in connection with an Aug. 11 domestic assault.
