Join us on the first Saturday of every month for our Poetry Reading series. Each gathering will include a reading by that month’s Featured Poet, followed by a discussion with the poet.
November's Featured Poet is Dilruba Ahmed. Her poems, described by the Poetry Society as having "an openness to beauty and remembrance that rekindles hope," often have their roots in her experience as an "outsider" growing up in western Pennsylvania as the American-born daughter of Bengladeshi parents. Her book Dhaka Dust (available from the Bookshop here) won the Bakeless Prize, and her poems have appeared in the American Poetry Review and Kenyon Review. Her latest book is Bring Now The Angels (available from the Bookshop ).
