Playmate Playwrights took to stage with their production of “Love Is Strange” at Hopewell Theater in early February, entertaining an audience of 144 theatergoers.
A reading of six one-act plays, directed by veteran actor and acting instructor Joey Perillo and produced by Susan Sandor, were read by actors whose bios read like Who’s Who in Theater.
Playwrights Jonathan Chiccino, Joanne Eisenberg, Meghan Malloy, Jennifer Nelson and Susan Sandor each had a different take on the theme, from love between parents and children, girlfriend and girlfriend, husband and wife, unlikely couples, and one-sided love from a person possessed.
Their next production, “Truth Be Told,” will be staged at the Amphitheater at Paxson Hill Farm on June 1.
