Pita Chip plans charitable food truck pop-up in Yardley

Posted

Pita Chip, the modern Middle Eastern quick-serve restaurant with locations on Temple University’s Campus and in University City, is getting ready to open its newest location — a 3,500-square-foot flagship location in Yardley, this spring.
In preparation, and to give the neighborhood a “taste” of what the fast-casual restaurant will offer, Pita Chip co-founder Omar Alsaadi plans to host a food truck pop-up Friday, March 4, in front of the new space at 1623 Big Oak Road (#560) in Yardley.
The pop-up, which begins at noon and goes until 2 p.m. or while supplies last, will feature falafel and chicken shawarma pita wraps. Customers can pay what they want, with all money raised benefiting the Kisses for Kyle Foundation, which offers services to families fighting childhood cancer in the Delaware Valley.

“We’re so excited to expand into the suburbs, and this is a way of giving the community a preview of what they should expect once we’re up and running,” said Alsaadi. “We’re borrowing a friend’s food truck, and we’ll be in front of the new shop giving out as many falafel and chicken shawarma wraps as we can produce, and we’re thrilled to raise funds for a fantastic local cause in the process.”
“We’re very excited to see them open in Yardley, as we couldn’t be more grateful and supportive to those who are supportive of us and give back to the Bucks County community,” said the Kisses for Kyle Foundation’s founder Sharon Snyder. “Before they even open, Mr. Alsaadi has already proven that he will be bringing a lot more than just delicious Middle Eastern cuisine to Yardley.”
Pita Chip’s menu includes scratch-made hummus and sides, as well as salad bowls, rice bowls, and wraps featuring chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, falafel, and roasted vegetables. Learn more by visiting Pita Chip Philly online.
