Pita Chip celebrating Rosh Hashana with meals to benefit local congregation

Posted

Pita Chip, the Modern Middle Eastern quick-serve restaurant located at 1623 Big Oak Road in Yardley’s Oxford Oaks Shopping Center, is celebrating Rosh Hashana this year in a fun way, offering “Rosh Hashawarma” family meal dinners to guests now through the final night of the Jewish high holiday on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Proceeds from Rosh Hashawarma sales will benefit Congregation Kol Emet in Yardley. Dinners cost $57.83 each, which represents the new year (5783) on the Jewish calendar, and pre-orders are being taken on Pita Chip’s website. Rosh Hashana takes place from sundown Sunday, Sept. 25 through sundown Tuesday, Sept. 27.

The family-style meals, which feed four people, include customer’s choice of proteins, hummus, rice, lettuce, toppings, sauces, pita bread, and raspberry rugelach.

“We opened Pita Chip in Yardley last spring with a very successful benefit for Kol Emet, and their entire congregation has been incredibly supportive ever since, so we decided to give back to them again while making their Jewish new year celebration easier this year,” said Omar Alsaadi, co-founder of Pita Chip.

“We hope those who observe Rosh Hashana in and around Bucks County consider this option so that they can relax and enjoy time with their families without having to cook throughout the holiday. We also hope that they pre-order in advance, which will help us organize our production.”

While Pita Chip also has locations in University City and at Temple University, the holiday special will only be made available at the Yardley outpost.

Pita Chip’s menu includes scratch-made hummus and sides, as well as salad bowls, rice bowls, and wraps featuring chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, falafel, and roasted vegetables. Learn more and place “Rosh Hashawarma” orders by visiting the Pita Chip Philly website.
