Perkasie’s Memorial Day Parade returns May 28

Posted

Perkasie Borough is working in partnership with the Hartzell-Crouthamel Post #280 of the American Legion to bring the Memorial Day Parade and Service back to Perkasie on Saturday, May 28.

The parade will begin in the center of Perkasie, at the corner of 7th and Market streets at 9 a.m. sharp and follow a route along town-center streets, ending at the Memorial Garden at Menlo Park.

The Sellersville Nase-Kraft Legion Post 255 Color Guard lead the parade and will be joined by local veterans, the Pennridge Marching Bands, local fire companies and first responders, Scouts and local civic organizations. Cyclists, wagons, baby carriages and walkers are invited to decorate and join the parade in patriotic dress.

An outdoor Memorial Service and Ceremony will begin at Menlo Park at approximately 10:15 a.m.; the service will be led by Chaplain David Strouse and will include a rifle salute, Taps, patriotic music, and a recognition of the veterans in attendance. Members of the community are invited to join the event to honor local heroes who have died.
