The 109th annual Perkasie Tree Lighting Ceremony took place Dec. 1.
The traditional ceremony began in 1909 and is officially the oldest community tree lighting ceremony in the United States. The event included horse and carriage rides, roving musicians and holiday music, store window displays and shopping specials, recitation of “T’was the Night Before Christmas,” food vendors, photographs with Santa Claus and more.
