Perkasie concert to benefit separated immigrant children

“Songs for the People,” a benefit concert for immigrant children separated from their families at the Mexican border, and will take place at 8 p.m. June 15, at Perkasie Mennonite Church, 320 W. Chestnut St., Perkasie.

An evening of songs of peace, love and justice, it will feature performances by Rolly Brown, Tachyonmetry (Cliff Cole & Brian Pearson), Jennifer Worthington, and singer-songwriters The Throwbacks (Dwight Shumate, Anthony Viscounte and Bob Calandra.)

There is a $20 suggested donation: all proceeds support the cause of immigrant rights through the organizations RAICES (Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services) and Welcoming the Stranger.

This event is sponsored by Upper BuxMont Rising, a grassroots, nonpartisan activist group. Tickets can be purchased at upperbuxmontrising.wordpress.com/songs-for-the-people-concert/.
