Pennypacker Mills invites families for holiday visits

Posted

Pennypacker Mills, 5 Haldeman Road, Schwenksville, presents holiday tours of Pennsylvania Gov. Samuel W. Pennypacker’s mansion between Tuesday, Nov. 26, and Sunday, Jan. 5, and a Victorian Christmas Open House Saturday, Dec. 14.

During the tour, visitors can see a vintage-inspired Christmas tree and “dazzling” room displays, and have the opportunity to shop in the Museum Shop for a Victorian Christmas.

The Victorian Christmas Open House from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, will feature living historians who will portray family, friends and servants as they wrap presents, write Christmas cards and listen to holiday music.

In the kitchen, see a clear toy candy demonstration. Outside, listen to the holiday music of a bell choir. Spend time with a Victorian Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus; share Christmas wishes, take a picture and then enjoy warm refreshments and Christmas cookies.

Holiday Tours and the Victorian Christmas Open House are free; however, there is a suggested donation $2 per person. Group reservations are suggested for Holiday Tours of 10 or more people. Call 610-287-9349.

Pennypacker Mills is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day, and New Year’s Eve and Day.
