More than 900 people attended the “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” awards ceremony held April 8at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks.
The student video contest received 129,897 votes over a three-day voting period. Both set records in this region’s third year in the contest.
Presented by DVIRC, with teaming partners eMediaWorks, Sahl Communications and EmpowerStar Marketing, the Philadelphia Region’s third annual “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” Student Video Contest focuses on matching Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia county schools with major manufacturing companies in the greater Philadelphia area.
The video with the most votes – Pennridge Central Middle School (Secant Group) received the “Viewer’s Choice Award.”
The videos were also reviewed by a panel of judges for awards in 10 other categories.
Award winners included:
– Outstanding “Cool”: Pennridge South Middle School – Daria Metal Fabricators Inc.
– Outstanding Outreach Plan: Pennridge Central Middle School – Secant Group.
