Pennridge CROP Hunger Walk slated

Posted

Members of the community are invited to participate in the 39th annual Pennridge CROP Walk for Hunger on Sunday, Oct. 9.

The event is sponsored by the congregations of the Pennridge Ministerium. Walkers will gather to raise funds to assist those who are food insecure both locally and globally.

Two routes are featured. Registration for both the 5-mile route and the shorter “Golden Mile” route begins at 1 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Ave., Perkasie. The walk, held rain or shine, begins at 1:30 p.m. Participants are asked to bring non-perishable food to donate to the Pennridge FISH pantry.

Twenty-five percent of all proceeds will go to Pennridge FISH for local hunger use. The remaining funds will be used by Church World Service and its partner agencies for hunger relief in the U.S. and around the world.
