Pennridge Area Memorial Day parade canceled

Posted

The Pennridge Area Memorial Day parade has been canceled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It won’t be rescheduled this year.

Former state Rep. Paul Clymer, commander of Perkasie’s Hartzell-Crouthamel American Legion Post 280, which was scheduled to host the parade as part of its 100th anniversary celebration, said he regrets the need to cancel.

“We hope that you and your family are staying healthy during this unprecedented time in our country’s history,” Clymer said.

Typically, the parade begins at the corner of Diamond Street and East Clymer Avenue in Sellersville and ends at the War Memorial in Lenape Park. It is usually followed by an hour-long memorial service at the War Monument.
