PECO and PennDOT improvements to impact traffic

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced the following:

PECO Energy will perform utility construction on several state highways in Bucks and surrounding counties. Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions in Bucks County

•Monday, May 8, through Friday, May 12, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., a lane closure is scheduled in both directions on Route 132 (Street Road) between Knights Road and Castle Drive in Bensalem Township; and

•Monday, May 8, through Friday, May 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 332 (Newtown Richboro Road) between Township Road and Titus Avenue in Northampton Township.

Sign and delineator installations will occur on U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) in Falls Township, under a project to install safety enhancements to improve travel and reduce high-speed crashes across the five-county Philadelphia region. Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

•Monday, May 8, through Friday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., periodic lane closures are scheduled on northbound U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) at the intersection with Levittown Parkway in Tullytown Borough.

Several state highways are scheduled for resurfacing operations in Bucks and Montgomery counties, under several projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia Region. The Bucks County work schedules and locations are:

•Thursday, May 11, through Friday, May 26, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 332 (Yardley Newtown Road/Afton Avenue) between the Interstate 295 interchange and Route 32 (Delaware Avenue) in Lower Makefield Township and Yardley Borough for milling and paving.

U.S. 422 is among state highways scheduled for construction activities in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. The Bucks County work schedules and locations are:

•Thursday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound Route 611 (Easton Road) between Almshouse and Edison Furlong roads in Doylestown Township for bridge inspection.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
