Pearl S. Buck International welcomes vice president of development

Pearl S. Buck International has hired longtime nonprofit development professional Susan Savage as the organization’s new vice president of development.

Savage, who is a lifelong Bucks County resident, brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to her new role, with more than 21 years of fundraising experience. A graduate of West Chester University and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, she has spent a majority of her career in marketing and development. She began working for health care and assisted living facilities organizing public relations, assisting with fundraising functions, coordinating community outreach, and planning and assisting with events.

From 2001 until 2012, Savage worked for the Bucks County Historical Society at Mercer Museum and Fonthill Historic Site as the membership and annual fund coordinator and then as the development officer, capital campaign coordinator. In these roles she supervised all major fundraising events, implemented an annual membership campaign, managed the Annual Fund Campaign and Business Membership Program, and coordinated all fundraising activities for a $12 million capital campaign.

Since then, she has made a name for herself as director of advancement services and director of annual giving and special events for Liberty Lutheran Foundation in Ambler; director of development and capital campaign director for Pickering Manor in Newtown; and director of development and capital campaign director for Grace Inspired Ministries. She is also a CFRE-Certified Fundraising Executive, which she achieved in 2021.
