A graduation ceremony for the fall session of the Global Leadership Program at Pearl S. Buck International was held on Dec. 14.
Graduates of the program were from nine area high schools and include: Matthew Allen, Corinne Berger, Brendan Bergmann, Gavin Buiting, Diya Cherian, Abigail Cozza, Shrinidhi Dandibhotla, Cecile Dickey, Holden Emery, Aastha Gautam, Sophie Kadan, Amy Liu, Janessa Murphey, Erin Keefe, Joohan Son and Rudra Bengali.
As their service project, the students organized a food drive that raised funds to help Pearl S. Buck International sponsored children and their families affected by disastrous flooding in the Philippines.
The Global Leadership Program, for students from grades nine through 11, is designed to help young adults become better students, college applicants, global citizens and young humanitarians. Students build relationships and learn vital skills such as team communication, cultural awareness, creativity, community service, leadership, goal setting and decision making in a group setting with teens from multiple high schools and differing backgrounds.
