Posted

Paul Cook – son of Millie Gorson and Jerold Cook (deceased), husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend – left us on July 27 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He passed peacefully, after valiantly fighting recently diagnosed pancreatic cancer.

Paul’s journey was wonderful and unique. He was compassionate, handsome, athletic and funny, and was always interested in other people and wanted to hear their stories.

He received a MSW from Temple University and began a career as a citizen advocate, counseling juveniles, and being influential in Twelve Steps programs. Later, he studied communications in the healing arts.

He developed a plantscaping business in Philadelphia with his former wife, Karen Craig of Stockton, N.J. Forrest Green Plantscapes, Inc. is now run by their sons, Forrest and Davis Cook of Philadelphia. His love of horticulture came from his mother, Millie Gorson of Bala Cynwyd, Pa.

In addition to Millie and Karen, he is survived by his daughter Laurel Cook (Robert Dauth), son Forrest (Marcy Frankil) and son Davis (Lily Feingold); his grandchildren Rylan, Luke and Bo Dauth; and his siblings Ilene Wolf, Elizabeth Cook, Noah Gorson and Abby Wolfson, and their spouses.

A private graveyard funeral was held on Friday, July 29 at Mount Sharon Cemetery in Springfield, Pa.

A celebration of Paul’s life will take place at Solebury Friends Meeting Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.
