Patricia Hutton Galleries reopens after renovations

Posted

Patricia Hutton Galleries announced last week that they will reopen after seven weeks of renovations. Hutton sold the building to journalist and talkshow host Michael Smerconish.
“I wanted this unique antique building to be properly restored, and I decided Michael was the perfect person to do this, as he has a true affection for his hometown and had said he wanted to own a little slice of Doylestown,” said Hutton. “He got exactly that in the Kolbe House and I got the piece of mind knowing that I could continue business in this wonderful little house as a tenant.”
The gallery reopened with “The Moods and Colors of Autumn,” a gallery-wide show featuring landscape and still life.

The exhibition includes landscapes of Bucks County and surrounding areas. New large gallery windows let in natural light and allow passersby to see the collection from outside. A second floor houses oils and a large selection of watercolors and pastels.
“I am very pleased to carry works on paper by national award-winners, many who have signature status from the Watercolor and Pastel Societies of America,” said Hutton. “And our oil painters have received national awards from Allied Artists of American, Oil Painters of America and in plein air shows throughout the country.”
