Palisades Community Chorus sets Kintnersville concerts

Posted
The Palisades Community Chorus and the Delaware Valley University Chorale will present their winter 2019 concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Palisades High School on Church Hill Road, Kintnersville.
Excerpts from Joseph Haydn’s “The Seasons” will be performed under the direction of Dr. Jack Schmidt, professor at Delaware Valley University.

Tickets are available at palisadescommunitychorus.org and at the door on the day of the concert. Tickets purchased for this concert support the chorus’ scholarship program and future performances of the Palisades Community Chorus.

A second performance will be presented at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Life Sciences Auditorium at Delaware Valley University.

This concert will benefit the “Code Blue” project of the Coalition to Shelter and Support the Homeless, which the chorus has supported for a number of years. No tickets are necessary for this concert. In lieu of tickets, monetary goodwill donations will be collected, with all proceeds to support the local homeless shelter.

The music, considered one of Haydn’s masterpieces, is described as one of Haydn’s most touching works – grand scale and full of life, joy and hope. There are sunrises and sunsets, a thundering storm and the sounds of nature. The libretto is drawn from a text by the Scottish poet James Thomson.
