PA Center for Photography presents Transformations

Posted

The fifth annual “Transformations” exhibition from the Pennsylvania Center for Photography is now open and available to all online.

The show, which highlights photographers working with unconventional techniques and producing norm-bending imagery, features nearly 250 photographs from around the world.

“Transformations” has always been a unique show and this year is no exception. Unlike most shows where a single person or small group judges the competition, all of the photographers who entered the show had the opportunity to select the award winners. For many it was a challenging and enlightening experience, as the images are quite diverse and the level of technical excellence is very high.

In the end, they chose Juan Cavalleiro from California as the winner of the Transformative Category and Lauren Martin of Colorado as the winner of the Derivative Category, as well as awarding her the prize for the Best Body of Work. Bucks County based photographers Sharlene Holliday and Maria Dreyer also took home prizes for their exceptional images.

The Transformations exhibition is available for viewing at pacenterforphotography.org/ where most of the photographs are available for sale in a variety of sizes.
