Mount Carmel School honored by archdiocese

Posted

Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Doylestown is the recipient of the 2021 Archdiocesan School of Distinct Instruction in both Academic Growth and Exceeding Potential.
The awards are the result of the outstanding TerraNova standardized test scores students earned last spring.
The Academic Growth award references the fact that OLMC students gave evidence of expected or greater than expected growth comparing the Normal Curve Equivalent scores from 2021 and 2019 (students missed the 2020 testing cycle due to COVID). OLMC School earned the Exceeding Potential Award because 90% or more of the classes met or exceeded their potential in all areas at every level tested according to the Inview ability testing data.

Dr. Andrew McLaughlin, secretary of elementary education, noted, “Despite the many challenges these past two years have given, we are proud of the accomplishments and thank all of our administrators, teachers, parents and students for the efforts they made in accomplishing these academic landmarks.”
