Our enemies are laughing at us

Posted

Four score and 13 years ago, I came into the vale of tears, the product of Mary McMonagle Forbes and Arthur Forbes of Germantown.

The ensuing five decades all contained periods of hardship, despair and pain for all Americans. The Depression of the ‘30s, World Wars I and II, Korean War, Vietnam, 9/11, Desert Storm, Pearl Harbor, etc. are some of the tough times that we encountered. Add to that the numerous fires, floods, tornadoes and pandemics.

But under the leadership of some great Presidents, such as Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower and Reagan, we survived.

Some were admired, respected and feared by our enemies and friends. Some were open and transparent and believed in our Constitution. Some were quick to respond to national, state and local problems.

Sadly and unfortunately, many citizens do not think the present administration has any of the above traits. In fact, some voters regret the decision they made in the last election. Many have switched political parties and some are really thinking about it.

Their dissatisfaction stems from the many presidential and revengeful executive orders coming out of The White House.

The total disregard for our broken borders, inflation, the high cost of gas and electric and food, rising national debt, threats and saber-ratting of two adversaries, the withdrawal in Afghanistan and 13 dead Americans and $80 billion of equipment left there.

This list does not include all of the “snafus” that have occurred in the past year-and-a-half. Sadly, I’m sure it will continue.

Our only recourse will be to vote them out. We cannot allow our country to be laughed at by our enemies.

Jack Forbes, Doylestown
