One killed, two injured in Hilltown crash

One man was killed and two were injured when a vehicle struck a trailer while three men were loading it at 9:43 p.m. Aug. 3, Hilltown Police said.
Police identified the man who died as Leon Ryerson, Jr., 69, of Scipio Center, N.Y.
Officers responding to another call came across crash just after it occurred in the 1600 block of Hilltown Pike.
A pickup truck with a small trailer had been parked in the northbound lane of the roadway with three men loading items when a northbound vehicle struck the trailer from the rear, police said.
The impact killed Ryerson and injured the other two men, police said The injured men were transported to Grand View Hospital by Chal-Brit Regional EMS and Central Bucks EMS. Police did not identify the two injured men or the driver of the other vehicle.

The road was closed for several hours while the investigation was conducted. The crash is still under investigation by Hilltown Township Police, the Bucks County Crash Investigation Unit and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.
Also assisting at the scene were the Bucks County Coroner’s Office, the Hilltown Township Volunteer Fire Company, and Fire Police from Chalfont, Silverdale, Souderton, and Colmar.
