Langhorne Players' 75th season begins with a quirky comedy by master parodist Charles Busch: Olive and the Bitter Herbs, “a colorful, sweet-and-sour dish, laced with plenty of laughs” (Associated Press). Olive Fisher is a curmudgeonly character actress whose claim to fame is the iconic “Gimme the Sausage!” 1990s TV commercial. At war with the world (but particularly her new neighbors), a visitor in the form of a specter in her mirror will help Olive see that it’s never too late to change in this “acerbically hilarious” (Theater Mania) tale of neighborly hospitality, ghostly coincidences, and the Passover seder.
