NHS Food Coalition distributes $10,000 in supermarket gift cards

Posted
The NHSESPA/support staff union along with the NHSEA/teachers union have been reaching out in an effort to help residents of New Hope-Solebury that may be struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Together, the union memberships created the NHS Food Coalition and since its inception in March, the coalition has been collecting supermarket gift cards for those who are most vulnerable – those who are out of work and now dependent on unemployment, the elderly, or perhaps have gone from a two-paycheck family to one or suddenly no income at all.

The coalition has given out $10,000 in supermarket cards so far.

Recently, members of the Community Association of New Hope and Solebury gave $3,000 in donations to the NHS Food Coalition. Other groups that have also donated to the coalition are St. Martin of Tours Parish, The NHS Ed Fund, McCaffrey’s Markets, Giant, as well as countless caring and generous residents of the New Hope and Solebury communities.
