Newtown Theatre to screen Adventure Film Fest

Great Britain’s biggest adventure film festival is coming to Seattle, Boston, Denver and…the historic Newtown Theatre.

The Kendal Mountain Tour will stop in Newtown at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1. The mini film festival features a collection of short films about a variety of fresh-air adventures – from fearless surfers in Ireland to wingsuit BASE jumpers in New Zealand.

Viewers will be guided through “culturally rich, cinematically beautiful, thought-provoking stories” told by an eclectic collection of travelers, athletes, activists, and creatives from the most spectacular places on earth.

Short films being shown on this tour include:

• “The Process” – Director, Matt Pycroft – UK (15 minutes)

• “Spellbound” – Director, Richard Sidey – New Zealand (5 minutes)

• “Leo Rodgers” – USA (6 minutes)

• “Chasing Ghosts” – Director, Eric Bendick – USA (10 minutes)

• “Ebb and Flow” – Director, Alice Ward – Ireland (12 minutes)

• “A Woman’s Place” – Director, Menna Wakeford – UK (25 minutes)

Tickets for the one-night-only screening are available at TheNewtownTheatre.com for $17 per person or $15 for theater members. Any remaining tickets will be sold for $20 at the door on the night of the movie.
