Comedians Kevin Downey, Jr. and Larry XL will appear at the historic Newtown Theatre at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 13.
General admission tickets are $20 each or $35 for two and are available on the JJComedy website. This show is for mature audiences only. Beer, wine and concessions will be sold prior to the performance.
Comedian and columnist Kevin Downey, Jr. was recently labeled “refreshingly bizarre” by fellow comedian Joe Mulligan.
He has headlined small clubs around the U.S. and enjoyed a cult following until his on-going bookings at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino’s “Comedy Stop” in Las Vegas and Atlantic City brought him to a new level of notoriety.
Larry XL has been a finalist in comedy competitions in Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., and has opened for numerous comedians. Soon after he started performing at clubs, he recorded a CD with the DC Standup All-Stars, 2004’s “DC Standup vs. Earth,” and later his own live DVD, 2009’s “Crowd Control.”
The Newtown Theatre is located at 120 N. State St. in Newtown Borough.
